Pentecost

Image
Welcome! Pentecost calls us to realize our own discipleship in light of the community of faith-the Church. Our readings bring the experience of the early church when those locked in an isolated place in fear were given the courage of the Holy Spirit as Jesus himself had promised. The video by Rob Bell "Breathe" is an all time favorite but looking at it during this time of Pandemic may bring new insights. The Agape Latte video tells the experiences of Brian Robinette in a time of his own transitions in "When Life Gets Messy". We hope you can join us for our  small group ZOOM gathering. Waiting for the Spirit Welcome! Readings and reflection resources for Ascension Thursday, May 21, 2020 and Sunday, May 24, 2020. Waiting for the Spirit is the theme for this week as we reflect on the meaning of Jesus' Ascension into heaven and the promise of his sending an Advocate to us.  In the videos below Bishop Robert Barron invites us to reflect on the meaning of the Ascension for the Body of Christ, the Church.  Becky Eldredge reflects on how this preparation time before Pentecost invites us to look at how the Spirit is present in our everyday experience - especially in this time of Covid 19. We hope you will join us online for a small group sharing. Welcome! God's Compassionate Love Readings and Reflection resources for Sunday May 17, 2020 God's Compassionate Love is our theme for this week. The resources for this week use the theme of family. But not in the way we are used to hearing about this in the church. Fr. Michael Himes provides his wonderful storytelling style as he breaks open family as a metaphor for God's love. Fr. Ronald Rolheiser helps make the connections between God's compassion and the Holy Spirit. Below are several videos and articles that can be used for additional reflection on this week's Scripture Readings. We hope you will join us in our online small groups.
