God's Compassionate Love
Welcome! God's Compassionate Love
Readings and Reflection resources for Sunday May 17, 2020
God's Compassionate Love is our theme for this week. The resources for this week use the theme of family. But not in the way we are used to hearing about this in the church. Fr. Michael Himes provides his wonderful storytelling style as he breaks open family as a metaphor for God's love. Fr. Ronald Rolheiser helps make the connections between God's compassion and the Holy Spirit.
Below are several videos and articles that can be used for additional reflection on this week's Scripture Readings.
We hope you will join us in our online small groups.

Faith Feeds article "On Faith and Family"
Fr. Michael Himes youtube Agape Latte "On Faith and Family"
For Reflection:
Has family been a "school of love" for you? Why or why not?
Who has taught you a love lesson?
Have these experiences helped you understand God's love?
Does the idea that "one never forgets those you love" resonate with you? How does this relate to your relationship with God/Jesus/Spirit?
Fr. Ronald Rolheiser youtube "The Struggle for Compassion"
For reflection:
How does his explanation for the difference between John's baptism and Jesus baptism connect to this week's readings?
Does his teaching on living in the Spirit and not out of one's own strength resonate with you? How does your experience of the spiritual life help you understand this?
