Corpus Christi

Welcome!
This Sunday we celebrate Corpus Christi. This feast gives the church the opportunity to see the Eucharist through the eyes of Resurrection and to deepen our appreciation and understanding of Eucharist as the "source and summit" of our Catholic faith.

In preparation for this session you will find links to the lectionary readings, an article from America magazine which helps us reflect on Eucharist during our current pandemic situation, a video from Bishop Robert Barron from Word on Fire explaining the context of the feast, and a video story by Margaret Nuzzolese from Boston College Agape Latte.

We hope you will join us for our Zoom gathering on Thursday June 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM.

For reflection:
What has your experience of missing the sacrament of Eucharist been like?
Has your understanding or feelings about it been affected?
What does it mean to be a eucharistic people if we do not receive the sacrament?
What insights does the video provide to help us in our current situation?

Mystery of Eating Jesus' Flesh
Bishop Robert Barron, Catholicism clip

For reflection:
How was eucharist experienced in the early church?
What new learning did this video provide?

Blessed  Boken Shared
Margaret Nuzzolese, Agape Latte Boston College

For reflection:
How did Margaret come to understand blessed, broken, shared in her life?
How does blessed, broken, shared mean in your life?
Does her experience shed new light on Eucharist for you?
How do we help people younger than ourselves find their way to "be eucharist"?
