Oriented Toward God

Oriented Toward God

Human beings are "hard-wired" for God in that there is in us a deep hunger for the "more," the "ultimate,"  the "other."

This week the Gospel is one in which Jesus challenges his disciples to commit fully to God in order that they might have life.  At face-value Jesus' words can be disturbing for today's followers.  Join us as we take a deeper dive into the fuller meaning of Jesus' teaching.

Please join in our Zoom meeting for a discussion of the Gospel and these resources on Thursday, June 25, at 11 AM. • How do you stay "God-grounded?"

Oneness and the Heart of the World with Fr. Thomas Keating

In this talk, Father Keating discusses the dynamic nature of God and the paradox implicit in experiencing divine oneness. With humor and wisdom, he explores the practice of contemplative prayer, and how we might begin to approach God through being present to our senses.

Thomas Keating, O.C.S.O. was an American Catholic monk and priest of the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance. Keating was known as one of the principal developers of Centering Prayer.
